It is a fast quad-core for my opinion. Even, MSI GT60 and GT70 still in use Core i7-3120QM, which is mainly speed at 2.3 GHz and can increase speed up to 3.3 GHz.
Although, HP DV7-7005TX has CPU better than MSI but They are inferior in terms of use graphic card, it just nVidia GeForce GT650M. It may be because HP Pavilion DV7 not focus on gaming laptop but they focuses on a wide range of applications.
